Revela’t Festival
For the first time at the Revela’t festival, the program of activities includes 12 x 12 x 20, a portfolio viewing session with the aim of giving support to young photographers, professionals or amateurs, making their work known and making it grow. 12x12x20 encourages collaboration and artistic and commercial relations between 12 experts from the world of European photography (gallery owners, curators, festival directors, critics and publishers) and 12 photographers on the basis of 20-minute views.
The three selected photographers will receive a series of prizes that will allow them to continue learning and/or producing their exhibition. KBr Fundación MAPFRE will provide a set of publications of some of its exhibitions.
KBr Fundación MAPFRE will be present at this festival providing an award for the three selected photographers from the portfolio viewing session. The KBr Fundación MAPFRE contribution consists of a set of publications of some of its exhibitions.
This year’s theme is HUMANITY, A PORTRAIT OF THE PRESENT, coinciding with the 65th anniversary of the exhibition The Family Of Man, curated by Edward Steichen, we take this iconic exhibition as a leitmotiv for the eighth edition.
An exhibition that is framed in the 50’s, a decade convulsed with great socio-political events such as the cold war, the nuclear threat; the fight against racial segregation in the USA and South Africa; important political changes in Argentina and Cuba… At the same time, the so-called Humanist Photography consolidated, which rotates around the figure of a person, praising and valuing his or her qualities, values, spirit and dignity.
