Walker Evans. Now and Then
by David Campany

Walker Evans (St. Louis, Missouri, 1903–New Haven, Connecticut, 1975) is a key figure in modern photography and one of the great visual chroniclers of 20th-century America.
The exhibition Walker Evans: Now and Then offers a comprehensive review of his body of work and its influence on later generations of artists. From his self-portraits in the 1920s to his experimental photography with Polaroid in the 1970s, the exhibition reveals a photographer who questions the role of photography in documenting reality as well as the perception of reality through the medium.
